The Silo

This remote wooded area hides a true gem of roadside eateries. Featuring homemade hotdogs, hamburgers, and other classic grilled fare perfect for a summers day. Be sure to also try the desserts! The staff here also has to be some of the most kind and personable I have ever seen. This is a must stop if you are in the area or like me enjoy Sunday drives to unique dining locals.

A coworker and I stopped by this morning after doing a delivery. It was the second time I’ve driven by this place and I decided today was the day to stop and give it a try. I got two barbecue tacos and two chicken tacos and they were amazing the ladies they were super friendly and very nice. If you’re ever driving by and see it and you are curious, believe me, it is worth the stop

The Silo is a simply wonderful place to stop and eat! It's a roadside picnic where all you have to bring is your appetite. The burgers are amazing! I had a cheeseburger all the way and let me tell you, whatever they seasoned that burger patty with was incredible! Perfectly juicy, tasty burger! I also had a slaw dog. The slaw was fresh, crispy and had a slight sweetness that partnered with the savory hotdog just right! I got to enjoy my meal at the picnic table they have available. The two ladies that run the place are very welcoming and charming. It was a perfect lunch! I made The Silo a big ole on my Google map, can't wait to go back!

A MUST IF YOU ARE IN THE FORT GAINES AREA!!! A small Grain Silo converted into a fast food walk-up restaurant. Burgers, Hot Dogs, Tacos, Salads, and other fast food. Prices were a little higher than expected but quality and quality were excellent. Service was excellent with super friendly staff. This was, at this time, the only food place open in Fort Gaines. Chili Dog chili is almost all beef... GOOD.

We had the taco salads with beef. So fresh and delicious! It was a huge amount to eat, and the staff were super friendly. I got the oreo parfait and my husband had the cheesecake parfait. Very delicious! Atmosphere was superb. There's a little seating are on the surround porch.

This is a great hidden gem in our area. We stopped in and ordered a cheeseburger, a slaw dog and the BBQ taco. The cheeseburger was delicious with fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and ketchup/mayo/mustard. And a fresh soft bun. The slaw dog was mouthwatering. The dog had the perfect snap and the slaw was fresh, crispy and sweet. But the BBQ taco was the show stopper for me. The BBQ pork was seasoned perfectly had the exact amount of smoke and was not dry. It was completed with the scrumptious Cole slaw and a soft fresh flour tortilla. I just about called the police because this taco should be illegal. Oh yes, and the brownie. Whoever made the brownies needs a monument. And if you’d like, just 0.5 miles down the road, on the right is a park access to beaches on the lake with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Silo is a must do in Alabama. The staff were so polite and friendly. You gotta go visit them. And if you’re a motorcyclist what a great ride on some back country roads with lots of twisties.

Discovered this sweet little restaurant while camping at Hardridge Creek Campground. The food was great, and the ladies who run/own it are wonderful. We would highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a burger or pulled pork (what we ordered). While there is no indoor seating, there are picnic tables outside. We shared a table with a couple we had just met there and had a very pleasant conversation with them.
